Stuart Somerville Bridge, Manly, NSW

MicroNex recently supplied a Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) control system for Stuart Somerville Bridge, located within the iconic coastal setting of Manly Beach, NSW.

Positioned along the beachfront foreshore, the bridge provides a critical link between Manly and the neighbouring suburb of Queenscliff, subject to continuous exposure to harsh marine environments.

Delivered in collaboration with Duratec Limited, SMEC, and Northern Beaches Council, the project forms part of a remediation program aimed at preserving the structural integrity and extending the service life of this important coastal asset.

The MicroNex ICCP control system has been implemented to support the long term corrosion mitigation of reinforced concrete elements, delivering precise and reliable control of current to safeguard embedded steel reinforcement in high risk exposure zones.

MicroNex offers a unique ICCP control solution that combines full remote monitoring and control capability with complete manual onsite operation. Built using the latest non proprietary components, the system eliminates vendor lock in while ensuring long term serviceability, flexibility, and ease of integration.

Designed with the asset owner in mind, MicroNex systems provide complete administrative control, enabling efficient system management, performance optimisation, and long term durability of critical infrastructure assets.
